How This Free Valencia Directory Works
This site is a directory of things in Valencia that cost nothing to enter or join. Every walking tour listed here is free, pay what you want: you reserve a spot at no charge and tip the guide whatever the walk was worth. Each tour belongs to an independent local guide and is reserved on GuruWalk or freetour.com. This site operates no tours and sells nothing.
Which Walks Appear Here And Why
The directory ships 36 free walking tours. One, the Free Monumental Tour of Valencia by Paraguas Rojos, is listed on freetour.com; the rest are GuruWalk listings run by their own guides. Every walk has its own page here, carrying the rating, review count, meeting point and duration shown on the guide's own page.
These walks earn their place for one reason: every one is free, pay what you want, with no booking fee of any kind. The guides and operators named here, from SuperGurus to Almodí Tours, run their own walks and set their own routes. A visitor reserves a free spot and pays nothing until they decide what the walk was worth.
The walks fall into four groups: essential Valencia, night and legends, history and heritage, and neighbourhoods and themes. Essential Valencia is the largest, with 20 walks through the old city, followed by 7 neighbourhood and theme walks, 5 night and legends walks and 4 history and heritage walks. Each page states plainly which languages the guide runs.
Ratings are never mixed. GuruWalk walks rate out of 5, and the freetour.com walk rates out of 10, and no figure is converted between the two. The Valencia Old Town walk by JC, for example, is rated 4.99 out of 5 across 1,589 GuruWalk reviews, while the Free Monumental Tour of Valencia is rated 9.4 out of 10 across 280 freetour.com reviews.
How The Facts Are Checked
Walk details are read from the guide's own GuruWalk or freetour.com page. Attraction facts come from the operators' own pages: the Ajuntament for the municipal museums and towers, the Cathedral of Valencia for its cultural visit, and each museum for its own entry rule. When a fact cannot be settled from those sources, it is left out rather than guessed.
How The Walks Are Checked
Before a walk page ships, its meeting point, languages, duration, rating and review count are read against the guide's own page on GuruWalk or freetour.com. The Ciutat Vella Essential Free Tour by Almodí Tours, for instance, is shown meeting at Plaça de la Reina for 2 hours because that is what its own page states. Nothing is added from memory or assumption.
What Every Walk Must Show Before It Appears Here
The rule is simple. A walk earns a page here only if it is a real, reservable, pay-what-you-want walking tour in Valencia, run by an independent local guide on GuruWalk or freetour.com. Paid tours, bike rides and museum visits with a ticket price do not qualify. The 36 walks that meet the rule are the whole roster, and nothing outside it is described.
How A Walk Wins Its Own Page
Every rating printed here states its own scale. GuruWalk walks rate out of 5: the COMPLETE Express Experience by Ulises is rated 4.97 out of 5 across 860 GuruWalk reviews. The Free Monumental Tour of Valencia by Paraguas Rojos is listed on freetour.com, which rates out of 10, and it is rated 9.4 out of 10 across 280 freetour.com reviews. No figure is converted.
Why No Walk On This Site Has A Price
No walk here carries a price because free, pay what you want is the price. You reserve a spot at no charge, walk the whole route, and tip the guide at the end whatever the walk was worth to you. The guides are paid by those tips alone, and this site sells nothing and charges no booking fee, so there is no figure to print.
What Each Walk Page States
Each walk page states what the guide's own page states: the meeting point, the duration, the languages and the guide or operator. The Free Tour of the City of Arts and Sciences by SPAIN FREE TOURS, for example, meets at CaixaForum València, runs for 2 hours in English and Spanish, and is rated 4.85 out of 5 across 92 GuruWalk reviews.
How The Attraction Pages Get Their Facts
A place is called free only when the free part and any paid part are stated as separate facts. The Torres de Serranos gates cost nothing to look at from the street, while the climb is a paid ticket, free only on Sundays and public holidays. The Cathedral of Valencia's cultural visit costs EUR 12 and the Holy Chalice chapel sits inside it. Where a rule cannot be settled, it is not published as settled.
How The Directory Keeps Its Copy Honest
What This Site Leaves Out
When a reader reserves a free spot through a link on this site, GuruWalk or freetour.com pays this site a small amount. That is the only income this site has. It changes nothing about what a reader pays, because every walk is free, pay what you want, and the tip goes to the guide alone. Reserving through a link costs exactly what reserving any other way costs: nothing up front.
That payment never shapes what gets written. The 36 free walking tours on this site were chosen on the roster's own merits, not on what any link might earn. Each rating keeps the scale it was given: GuruWalk walks rate out of 5, the one freetour.com walk rates out of 10, and neither is converted to flatter the other. A walk's page says what the walk is, and nothing a link could earn changes a word of it.
This site is not affiliated with GuruWalk or freetour.com, and neither platform has a say in what appears here. Every walk belongs to an independent local guide. A small walk with few reviews, such as the GuruWalk walk by Valenciatoursconlucia that meets at Plaça de Santa Úrsula, rated 5 out of 5 across 2 GuruWalk reviews, sits beside a large one on exactly the same terms. Size earns no favours here.
