Where The Money Comes From: GuruWalk And Freetour

This directory earns one kind of income: affiliate commission from the walking tours. Follow a tour link here and reserve a spot, and GuruWalk or freetour.com pays this directory a fee for the referral. That fee never lands on the visitor. Every walk is free to reserve, pay what you want on the day, and the tip belongs entirely to the guide who ran it.

Commission is the only revenue this site has. No sponsored placements, no paid rankings, no advertising. GuruWalk and freetour.com are the only platforms linked anywhere, and no other booking site appears on a page. The directory exists to answer one question, what is free in Valencia, and its income never changes the answer.

Every guide named on this site works for themselves. SuperGurus, JC, Natalia, Paraguas Rojos and the rest each run their own walk under their own name on GuruWalk or freetour.com. This directory employs none of them, speaks for none of them and takes no share of what a visitor tips. The only relationship is the referral, handled between the platforms and this directory.

What The Commission Pays For And What It Never Buys

Nothing is sold here and no tour is operated here. Reserving a walk costs nothing, and the tip at the end is set by the visitor. When a reader books through a link to a guide's GuruWalk page or the freetour.com listing, the platform may pay this site a commission, at no cost to the reader. That is the entire model.

No museum, church, monument or business pays for a place on any page here. An attraction gets described as free only when its own access rules say so, and the conditions are never stripped out: the Sunday and public holiday window is named wherever the municipal rule applies, and a paid climb or paid exhibition is always labelled paid. Nothing gets softened into free to make a page sound better.

• Review counts are never rounded up or trimmed down. Whatever number appears is the figure GuruWalk or freetour.com publishes, printed as the platforms give it.
• No guide can buy a place here. The 36 free walking tours on this site are the complete roster, and no fee has ever moved a walk up, down or off it.

How The Figures Are Printed

A GuruWalk score and a freetour.com score are never blended into one figure. The Old Town walk by JC is printed as 4.99 out of 5 across 1589 GuruWalk reviews, the scale its platform uses. The Free Monumental Tour of Valencia by Paraguas Rojos is printed as 9.4 out of 10 across 280 freetour.com reviews, on its own scale. Neither figure is converted, because a conversion would distort it.

The roster is fixed and small by design: 36 free walking tours across essential Valencia, night and legends, history and heritage, and neighbourhoods and themes. All but one run on GuruWalk; the exception, the Free Monumental Tour of Valencia, is listed on freetour.com. No third platform appears anywhere on this site, and no walk outside these 36 exists here.

Valencia Works Fine Without This Site

Nothing on this site is required for access. Every walk can be reserved directly on GuruWalk or freetour.com, and every square and garden mentioned costs nothing to visit whether or not a reader arrives through these pages. Plaza de la Virgen does not check for a referral. The Turia Gardens and the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciencies grounds work the same way. Think of this site as a map rather than a turnstile.

What this site adds is sorting: which walks run in English, which landmark each one meets at, which carry a cost the guest pays at the tapas stops or the cafe. None of that gates anything. A reader who already knows their guide can head straight to the guide's own GuruWalk page and never open this site at all.
